Author Eric Locsh

Eric Locsh

It was a lightbulb moment for young adult author Eric Locsh when, after bouncing from studying accounting, then teaching, to geology in college, he finally realized his passion was to follow his childhood passion for writing stories. He was hooked. Eric published his first novel after working on it for ten years and his second novel—a new release YA magical realism novel, The Night Howler, about an out of touch crime fighting superhero well past his prime struggling to stay on top in a modern age—followed suit.

Eric’s ideas for his books come mainly from his life experience and observations of the world around him. Having many opinions and views of the world that are sometimes hard to articulate or talk about, Eric’s writing is his way of getting some of that out and using the characters to help him understand those observations a little better. He does this by writing by hand as much as possible.

Eric thinks a great book is one that readers can connect with by having characters that are relatable, whether they are good or evil. He hopes his readers come away from his novels learning something new about themselves or a perspective they hadn’t considered before. His goal is to write a compelling, thought-provoking story that stays with the reader long after the book is closed.

When he isn’t writing young adult fantasy stories, Eric enjoys riding his motorcycle, traveling the world, and spending time with friends where he lives in New Jersey.
